The short version
- If you join the waitlist we keep your email address, plus your name and handicap band if you give them.
- We use them to tell you about FindFore and invite you to early access. Nothing else.
- We never sell your details or share them with advertisers.
- This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your details at any time by emailing adam@adamhughes.studio.
Who we are
FindFore is a golf app being built by Adam Hughes Studio in the United Kingdom. In this policy “FindFore”, “we” and “us” mean Adam Hughes Studio. We are the controller of the personal information described here, which means we decide how it is used and are responsible for looking after it under UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
For anything to do with your personal information, email adam@adamhughes.studio.
This policy covers the website at findfore.app and the waitlist. The FindFore app will have its own privacy policy, which we will publish before it launches.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist
- Email address. Required, so we can contact you.
- Full name. Optional.
- Handicap band. Optional, for example “10 to 18” or “No handicap yet”. It helps us understand who is interested.
- Sign up details. The date and time you signed up and that you came from this website.
When you visit the website
Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when your browser requests a page. This includes your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. It is used to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not use it to identify you or build a profile of you.
When you email us
If you contact us we keep your email and our reply so we can help you and keep a record of the conversation.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send us, sensitive information such as health details.
How we use it, and our lawful basis
| Purpose | Information | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Sending waitlist updates and your early access invite | Email, name, handicap band | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Understanding who FindFore is for, such as the spread of handicaps on the waitlist | Handicap band, sign up date | Your consent |
| Running the website and keeping it secure | Technical information from your visit | Our legitimate interest in providing a working, secure site |
| Replying to your messages | Your email and what you tell us | Our legitimate interest in answering you |
We do not make automated decisions about you, and we do not use your information for advertising.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with the service providers that help us run FindFore. Each acts on our instructions and is bound to protect it.
| Provider | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Formspree | Receives and stores waitlist sign ups and forwards each one to our inbox | United States |
| Vercel | Hosts this website and keeps short term technical logs | United States, with servers worldwide |
| Our email provider | Hosts the inbox that receives sign up notifications and your emails | United Kingdom, European Economic Area or United States |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of FindFore, our users or others.
International transfers
Some of our providers store information outside the United Kingdom. When they do, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK Extension to the EU and US Data Privacy Framework (the “UK and US data bridge”) or the International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, as set out in each provider’s data processing terms.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist details: until FindFore launches and we have sent your invite, then for up to 12 months in case you have not yet joined. We delete them sooner if you unsubscribe or ask us to.
- Technical logs: for the short period our hosting provider keeps them, usually no more than 30 days.
- Emails with us: for up to two years after our last conversation, unless we need them longer to resolve an issue.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, which will not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, email adam@adamhughes.studio. We will reply within one month. It is free, and we may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Every email we send about FindFore will also include a simple way to stop hearing from us.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
This website does not set any cookies or store anything on your device. Our cookie settings page explains this in more detail.
Children
The waitlist is not intended for anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us their details, email us and we will delete them.
Keeping your information safe
The website is served only over an encrypted connection, access to the waitlist is limited to the FindFore team, and we use providers with strong security practices. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as FindFore grows, for example when the app launches. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change that affects how we use your information, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
